Even though the Wikipedia page identifies Jai Paul as a Pop artist, there is no doubt that he is an amazing electronic producer and instrumentalist. He has managed to set new benchmarks as to what an artist can do and the BTSTU track is no different. Benefiting from a sophisticated pulsating trance beat and lyrics that are easy on the ears.
We just love the fact that sometimes artists deliberately refuse to be pigeonholed into a genre and just create tracks with so many different influences, so many different dimensions. And after listening to the track a few times you just slowly start to detach yourself from the addictive beat and actually pay attention to the lyrics, and boy do they hit hard. So all in all, this track benefits from loads of different sounds. This means that it will not be suitable for everyone, especially if you listen to it expecting a pop sound. I mean the industrial sounding glitchy bass in itself is a rather acquired taste and can be seen as either extremely addictive or extremely irritating. However the track in general is a very interesting piece of art indeed and deserves a 9/10 rating. Listening to other tracks by Jai Paul will make you realise just how unique each track is and how much time goes into finding each perfect combination and fusion of genres.
